Our dog Stevie
We saw Stevie for the first time when she was about five weeks old. We immediately fell in love with her. We were looking for a female tri colore puppy WITH TAIL. We could choose from two puppies, both were lovely. But Stevie stole our heart, she was the smallest and calmest of the two. She was also born on the same day as our son Daniel.
Daniel decided on the name Stevie. He thought that she should have an Australian name because she is an Australian Shepherd. His big heroe is Steve Irwin, the Australian crocodile hunter. In his class at school was a girl named Stevie. So he turned Steve Irwin into Stevie and there she was.
Three weeks later we picked Stevie up. She fell asleep on my lap right away. She was happy in our house from the beginning. We started training her immediately. Stevie is an intelligent dog who wants to do it all right. In no time Stevie could "sit", "floor", "watch me", "come here", "stay" and so on. She waits for our "ok" before she starts her meals.
Stevie loves to hug. She's always where we are. She loves to run and jump too. We take her out on lovely walks and it beautiful to see how she flies through the Appian fields and jumps over ditches. Stevie runs faster than our children. She will always make sure the whole family is on board like we are her "sheep". We play hide and seek with her.
We took Stevie to Holland in the winter. At that time it was very cold and there was ice on the water. Stevie, who had never seen ice before, was running through the fields. Suddenly Stevie wanted to go on the "road", which in fact was a canal with ice. She jumped on the "road" and glided on her belly, leggs spread out, over the ice. She beat every famous ice skater of the entire world. She went almost one million miles per hour. It was the funniest thing. Stevie did not like it.
We can not imagine live without Stevie anymore. She is part of our family. We give her a lot of love and she gives so much back.
